Yep, I'm totally going there.

Look guys, we need to talk... It's about that time of the month. You know what I'm talking about! (Bloating, cramps, mood swings?!). Anyway, It's not your period, it's YOU. (Okay, okay, I guess some of it is your period!).

Just joking! (Well, sort of). But what if I told you lots of women are now experiencing less bloating and cramps during their menstrual cycle by changing this ONE THING:

Their Feminine Hygiene Products!

I know, I know, it's crazy. But just hear me out. I recently tried the Diva Cup for the first time, and it was a GAME CHANGER. Seriously. I put off trying it for so long because I was scared (and just a little bit grossed out by the idea!). But now, I am neither, and I'm so glad I made this switch! Here's why you should too!

The Diva Cup Does NOT Contain Harmful Toxins

Whoop, whoop! But did you know most tampons and pads do? That's because most of the cotton produced in the US is genetically modified to be resistant to glyphosate (also known as Round Up, a powerful herbicide for killing weeds) which means the cotton can be sprayed over and over without doing any harm to the crops. But, it harms us! The vagina is very permeable, meaning anything put inside can be absorbed by the bloodstream, and since glyphosate is a known cancer causing agent, chronic exposure could be responsible for the rising number of patients diagnosed with endometriosis, infertility, thyroid disorders, while also increasing our risk for cancer.

The Diva cup, on the other hand, is made from healthcare grade silicone, so you don't need to worry about any of that!

It's Good For The Environment!

Did you know the average woman will use anywhere from 11,000 to 16,000 tampons or pads in her lifetime? Holy cow! Not only are all those tampons and pads accumulating in landfills, but the manufacturing process for the cotton and the plastic for the applicator and packaging can also take it's toll on the environment. Not to mention it can take centuries for these feminine products to degrade!

You will save money!

Who doesn't want more money?! Just think about how much money you spend on a year on tampons or pads alone! If you are changing your sanitary pad every 4-6 hours (or even more frequently) that would be about 6 times a day, and 30 times in 5 days. That's pretty much a whole box that you pay around $8 for. That adds up to $96 dollars a year, which may not sound like much, but in 5 years you would have spent close to $500 in tampons alone! What if you never had to buy tampons again? What else could you use that money for? The Diva Cup is a one time purchase that pays for itself in the long run.

There Are Personal Added Benefits

After trying the Diva Cup for the first time, I was so excited about how easy it was to insert, and how comfortable it was! The silicone forms to your body (unlike tampons) so you don't even feel it! So much so, that I actually FORGOT I was on my period! That's insane! Not only that, it did not leak AT ALL! Honestly. I did everything as usual, including exercise like yoga and even swimming in a WHITE bathing suit, and it didn't budge! (It has a suction effect, and that's what I think makes it stays in so good.)

Last but not least, it actually REDUCED my cramps! I truly think the toxins from the tampons I used to wear were actually making my period worse.  I just felt so much better all around with the cup. Less cramps, less bloating, less feeling yucky. Add all that with the fact that it lasts up to 12 hours between changes, and you have a recipe for gold. This was hands down the best period I’ve ever had!

So, seriously, do yourself (and the Earth!) a favor, and go get a Diva Cup. You won't regret it!
