Ever since I was a teenager, maybe even younger, I LOVED scented candles - and pretty much anything that smelled really good! Air fresheners for your home, air fresheners for your car, and I especially loved my Scentsy burner! During the holidays, I always had some apple cinnamon or thankful harvest scents burning away. Even thinking about the wonderful aroma is nostalgic.

Unfortunately, as I began my journey to great health, I discovered how BAD these actually are! I learned that they are filled with chemicals and long term use can contribute to health problems. And scented air fresheners? They coat your nasal passages (rather than get to the source of the smell) and are also very unhealthy for you. Oh my! This was NOT something I wanted in my home - ever again!

So I tossed it all out! I have a baby, so it's super important to me to be conscious of these kind of things! I absolutely refuse to jeopardize his health if there's anything I can do about it, just like any mom would!

But how do I make my place smell good? What do I do about cleaning products? Well, the answer is - anything natural basically! I can warm some fresh cinnamon on the stove for that cozy holiday feeling, or diffuse some lavender and citrus essential oils (really any essential oil that you like - just do it safely!) and I am always on the lookout for more natural and chemical free cleaning products! One really awesome all natural sink cleaner I've discovered is using alemon or grapefruit cut in half and some salt! It scrubs the sink pretty well and leaves a fresh natural scent behind! It's really as easy as that to have a more healthy home and lifestyle!

Do you suffer from frequent headaches, migraines or trouble breathing at times? If it's not something from your diet, it could very well be from the pollutants in your home! Give the natural thing a try, you won't regret it, and you'll probably never go back!
